BUILDING MAINTENANCE

The repair and maintenance of our parish buildings (rectory, church, and parish center) is an ongoing activity. We rely on our parishioners for minor repairs and maintenance. Come lend your expertise in one of the trades such as carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing or general building and home repair. “Weekend do-it-yourselfers” will enjoy this rewarding opportunity to fix it up while fellowshipping with others. We are always in need of an extra body and helping hands.

El mantenimiento y la reparación de nuestros edificios en la parroquia (rectoral, la iglesia, y el centro de parroquia) es una actividad progresiva. Dependemos de nuestros parroquianos para el mantenimiento y las reparaciones menores. Venga y preste su mano de obra en algunos de los proyectos tales como la carpintería, electricidad, pintura, plomería o mantenimiento general. Aquellos que deseen compartir esos talentos gozaran de una oportunidad única de arreglar la parroquia y a la misma vez confraternizar con otros. Siempre estamos necesitados de voluntarios.
 

GROUNDS KEEPING

Our parish lawn care includes mowing, trimming, weed control, and some light trash removal. These tasks are accomplished by a team of individuals dedicated to maintaining the neat and clean appearance of the parish grounds. This volunteer opportunity requires only a limited amount of time - only one or two days during the growing season.

If you enjoy planting annuals, watching them grow, and the beauty that spring and summer brings us, you will enjoying being apart of our parish landscaping and gardening club. Every year after our spring clean up and continuing throughout the growing season, we need help from those who enjoy the touch of the earth. Come and help plant flowers, trim, water, and weed the perennial beds and watch beauty unfold while assisting our gardening team.

El cuidado del césped y de los alrededores de la parroquia incluye tareas como cortar la grama, mantenerla en un estado saludable y alguna eliminación de basura. Estas tareas son alcanzadas por un equipo de individuos dedicados al manteniendo y la apariencia limpia de la parroquia. Esta oportunidad para voluntarios requiere sólo un poco de su tiempo.

Si a usted le gusta sembrar flores, verlas crecer y admirar la belleza que la primavera y el verano nos trae, usted disfrutara ser parte del club de jardinería. Todos los años después de nuestra limpieza primaveral, necesitamos voluntarios que disfrutan trabajar con flores. Venga y ayude a sembrar flores, mantenerlas y disfrutar de su belleza.
 

PRAYER CHAIN

The Telephone Prayer Chain Ministry has operated for quite a number of years at St. Thomas. Prayer requests originate through one of two lead callers found in the back of this ministry booklet. Care is taken to make certain that private information is kept private, and that nothing is said that the prayer recipient does not want said. The Telephone Prayer Chain graciously accepts more callers, as prayer is powerful in numbers. Anyone who is available during the daytime or evening and is willing to make one or more phone calls to pass along the prayer request and PRAY, please consider joining this group.

La Cadena de Oración Telefónica ha funcionado por muchos años en St. Thomas. Las peticiones de oración se inician con la llamada de una de las dos personas encargadas que Usted encuentra en la parte posterior del folleto de este grupo. Se tiene cuidado de mantener la privacidad de la información confidencial y que no se diga nada que el receptor de la oración no desee decir. La Cadena de Oración Telefónica acepta gentilmente nuevas personas que inicien las llamadas, ya que este grupo de oración es muy numeroso. Cualquier persona disponible durante las horas del día o de la tarde y que está dispuesta a hacer una o dos llamadas telefónicas para iniciar la petición de la cadena de oración y ORE, tenga la bondad de considerar unirse a este grupo.
 

CHILDREN'S RELIGIOUS EDUCATION & YOUTH MINISTRY

Volunteers are a vital and a necessary part of the Religious Education Program and Youth Ministry. These are separate ministries. We are always seeking active parishioners who interested in sharing our catholic faith. We need committed persons who can provide our children and youth through catechesis, scripture, worship, service and community a solid faith formation. Prayerfully think about what your gifts are to share in these ministries. After discerning what your gifts are, please contact the Director of Religious Education to have conversation about your gifts and interests. Let’s explore where you best fit in.

All volunteers, 18 years and older must attend the Protecting God’s Children Program before working with any young person. Diocesan policy states that all volunteers who have been delegated care, custody, or control of children or youth are required to attend the PGC and submit to a background check (fingerprinting). Volunteers are also required to fill out a parish volunteer application form.

Los voluntarios son una parte necesaria y vital del Programa de Educación religiosa y el Grupo de Jóvenes. Son grupos separados. Estamos siempre buscando feligreses interesados en compartir nuestra fe católica. Necesitamos personas comprometidas que puedan proporcionar a nuestros niños y jóvenes a través del catequismo, el evangelio, la oración, servicio a la comunidad, una formación sólida en la fe.
