HOSPITALITY |

Hospitality has been part of
the Judeo-Christian Tradition from the beginning. In Scripture, we find
Abraham entertaining angels and offering them a special hospitality. This
ministry team is inviting people who have the gifts and graces to express
social warmth, who have an honest smile, heartfelt handshake, and are
sincere to assist in the Ministry of Hospitality. Hospitality Ministers
are the welcoming faces of the liturgy. Duties include greeting the people
as they arrive; inviting the people in the assembly to take active
participation in the Mass. Other duties are planning and preparing for
funeral luncheons, receptions and other special events such as scheduled
coffee and donut weekends.
La hospitalidad ha sido
parte de la tradición judeocristiana desde el comienzo. En las Escrituras,
encontramos que Abraham recibe y ofrece hospitalidad a los ángeles. Este
grupo invita a personas que tengan el don y la gracia de expresar calidez
social, que tengan una sonrisa honesta, un apretón de mano cordial y sean
sinceras a servir en el Grupo de la Hospitalidad. Los miembros de este
grupo son la cara de bienvenida de la liturgia. Los deberes incluyen darle
la bienvenida a los recién llegados e invitar a las personas de la
asamblea a participar activamente en la Misa. Los otros deberes son la
planificación y preparación de los almuerzos fúnebres, recepción y otros
deberes como la programación del café de los fines de semana.

GREETERS |

Greeters are the first
people to welcome a new person or family at the entrances to the church.
Their primary task is to create an initial atmosphere of love, unity and
enthusiasm for our visitors. Why is this important? Our Church can at
times be an unwelcoming place to some and we never know what the
circumstances are in an individual's life. The skills and talents of
Greeters, a smile and a handshake, can make the difference in someone's
decision to come back. Los
saludadores son las primeras personas en dar la bienvenida a una persona o
familia nueva en la entrada de la iglesia. Su primera tarea es crear un
ambiente inicial de amor, de unidad y de entusiasmo para nuestros
visitantes ¿Por qué es importante? Nuestra Iglesia puede a veces parecer
un lugar poco acogedor para algunos, además, nunca sabemos cuáles son las
circunstancias de la vida de un individuo. Las destrezas y talentos de los
saludadores, una sonrisa o un apretón de mano, pueden ser que haga que
alguien decida volver.

USHERS |

Ushers serve as the gracious hosts for
all attending a mass, assuring that everything is in order for them when
they arrive. Being an Usher requires teamwork to coordinate the hosting
process. Ushers facilitate all seating in the Sanctuary, waiting to seat
latecomers until after the Readings, distribute missals and worship aids,
receive the offering, and hand out Sunday bulletins. Ushers also remain
after the mass to straighten the Sanctuary. It's the ministry that makes
the difference in every Sunday liturgy.
Los acomodadores funcionan como anfitriones
amables para los que asisten a misa, asegurándose que todo esté en orden
para cuando los demás lleguen. Ser un anfitrión requiere de trabajo de
grupo para coordinar el proceso de recibimiento. Los anfitriones facilitan
los asientos en el Santuario y esperan acomodar a los que llegan tarde
hasta después de la Lectura, distribuyen misales y otros materiales de
oración, reciben las ofrendas, y reparten el boletín dominical. Los
anfitriones también se quedan después de la misa para ordenar el Santuario.
